Montgomery Transportation Group Focuses on Driver Health and Wellness with New Rec Facility and Enhanced Benefits

At Montgomery Transport, we understand that driver pay is only part of the equation when looking at compensation. This year, as we see costs continually increasing on food, gas and other necessities, we’re so excited to share with you that our drivers’ premiums for health, vision and voluntary life and disability product are staying the same!

Offering our team the best-in-class benefits at a competitive cost is always a priority for us. We take great pride in the employee benefits programs we’ve put together. Over the last 11 years, we’ve made it a point to ensure you and your family are getting quality affordable health insurance. While healthcare expenses nationwide have increased overall, our rates have more than doubled to roughly $400K, yet we have been able to keep premium rates for our company drivers the same. For the 2022-2023 plan year, you can expect to receive enhanced and affordable benefits options at the same rates, even during this unprecedented and challenging time in our country.

We’re also excited to share with you that we’ve partnered with MetLife to offer our drivers new dental benefits plans. You will be able to choose from two plans that offer two preventative maintenance cleanings per calendar year, coverage for most dental needs and a nationwide network of dentists. These dental plans begin August 1.

The Buy-Up plan increases your annual maximum dental benefit by $500 to a total of $2,000, brings up your orthodontia coverage for dependent children up to age 26 to $2,000 lifetime ortho max, and will cover out-of-network dental services at 90 percent.

In addition to our new dental plans and our announcement about no premium increase, we will also be partnering with Intercept Rx to provide you with prescription services. We’re the first trucking company to work with them to deliver certain medications right to your door. We know your lives are busy enough as it is, so we’re excited to offer you this additional convenience.

Now, there’s even more to Montgomery’s focus on our drivers’ health and wellbeing. We’ve recently announced our investment in a new 4,500-square-foot fitness and recreational facility at the Birmingham terminal. The new MTG Rec Facility will house state-of-the-art workout equipment, including interactive treadmills, elliptical machines, upright bikes, lifting and stretch machines, free weights, and more. Additionally, the facility will contain laundry machines, showers, ping pong tables, air hockey, and TVs for our drivers to enjoy. Workstations with computers and desks will complete the space, giving drivers a comfortable space to work, relax or workout while visiting your home away from home.
